Malvern Zetasizer Nano ZS

The Malvern Zetasizer Nano ZS uses light scattering to determine the hydrodynamic size and zeta potential of particles in solution by measuring their Brownian motion.

  • Dynamic light scattering (DLS): analytical method that passes a laser beam through a sample of a solution of nanoparticles and determines the particle size and zeta potential by the change in light intensity (light scattering) during the sampling period.
  • Zeta potential determination: important in many applications including stability, particle adsorption to surfaces or transmittance through biologic barriers.
  • Auto sampling: the Nanosampler is equipped with two 48-well plates enabling larger scale experiments to be conducted. The Nanosampler attachment can only be used for particle size determination.
  • Feasible particle size range: colloidal dispersions from 1 nm to ~1 μm in a clear and transparent solvent.
