Eight ChemE-affiliates awarded Graduate Research Fellowships from the National Science Foundation

The UW ChemE department sends a hearty congratulations to the eight undergraduate students, graduate students and alumni from the department who have been awarded Graduate Research Fellowships from the National Science Foundation. The Graduate Research Fellowship is a prestigious and highly competitive award, given to students across a wide range of disciplines. The names of ChemE-affiliated awardees and their labs are listed below.

  • Alyssa Hicks, undergraduate senior, Bergsman Research Group (David Bergsman).
  • Austin MacIntyre, incoming PhD student, Z Lab (Zachary Sherman). MacIntyre is currently a student at University of Wisconsin–Madison. 
  • Jack Pereira, BS '25, Solid State Electrochemistry and Energy Lab (Stuart Adler). Pereira is now a PhD student University of California–Berkeley. 
  • Kristin Bennett, PhD student, Nance Lab (Elizabeth Nance). 
  • Naomi Kern, BS '25, Pozzo Research Group (Lilo Pozzo). Kern is now a PhD student at University of California–Berkeley. 
  • Shivani Kottantharayil, undergraduate senior, DeForest Research Group (Cole DeForest). 
  • Shubhan Nagarkar, incoming PhD student, DeForest Research Group. Nagarkar is currently a student at Michigan State University. 
  • Sofia Dahlgren, undergraduate senior, Nance Lab. Dahlgren will begin her PhD at Duke University this fall.
