Evans Term Career Development Professors

james carotherscole deforestThe department is pleased to announce James Carothers and Cole DeForest as the recipients of the Dan Evans Term Career Development Professorships in Chemical Engineering. The professorships offer three years of support for early-career core faculty members to explore new avenues for research and professional development.

Dan Evans (’66 B.S.), a native of Longview, Washington, went on from ChemE to work for Standard Oil and earn an MBA from the University of Oregon. He then transformed his father-in-law’s local plumbing contractor from a 5-person company to one of the largest specialty contractors in the country. He received ChemE’s Moulton Distinguished Alumnus Award in 2012.
