Four ChemEs among the Husky 100

 

We are pleased to announce that four ChemEs have been inducted into the inaugural 2016 Class of Husky 100! The Husky 100 recognizes 100 UW undergraduate and graduate students from Bothell, Seattle, and Tacoma in all areas of study who best exemplify the UW and the Husky experience. 

The awardees were selected based on five criteria: Discovery Mindset, Commitment to Inclusive Community, Capacity for Leadership, Ready for What Is Next, Connect the Dots.

 

Melissa Gile

Melissa is a ChemE Senior conducting undergraduate research with Prof. Jim Pfaendtner. 

 

Austin Wright-Pettibone

Austin is a ChemE Junior conducting undergraduate research with Prof. James Carothers. Austin serves as the Vice Chair for the Provost Advisory Committee for Students (PACS). 

 

Jessica Soto-Rodriguez

Jessica is a ChemE Ph.D. student with Prof. François Baneyx's research group. 
 

Laurel James

Laurel is a ChemE staff member who is also a Ph.D. student pursuing an Independent Ph.D. through the Graduate School working with the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes at the intersection of anthropology, fire science and forest policy. 

 

Congratulations to the four for making a strong mark in their academic endeavors!
