Ratner receives the Biomedical Engineering Society's 2008 Pritzker Distinguished Lecturer Award

Buddy Ratner, UW professor of chemical engineering and bioengineering, has been awarded the Pritzker Distinguished Lectureship by the Biomedical Engineering Society (BMES).

The Pritzker Distinguished Lectureship is awarded each year to recognize outstanding achievements and leadership in the science and practice of biomedical engineering. The award recipient is expected to deliver a plenary lecture at the BMES 2008 Annual Fall Meeting and to publish the text of the lecture in the Annals of Biomedical Engineering.

An important purpose of the lecture is to critically review a field of biomedical engineering and offer a vision on the challenges and opportunities in biomedical engineering.
