ChemE Staff Award

ChemE staff work tirelessly to help execute the department’s mission. Too often their work goes unnoticed or unmentioned. The Chemical Engineering Staff Award is one way we can recognize their contributions.

To nominate an outstanding staff member or team, compile materials as outlined below into one pdf and email it to Debbie Carnes by Friday, April 21, 2023.

Nominations packets should demonstrate that the nominee or team consistently exceeds expectations on the job, e.g. by significantly increasing the efficiency of a work process or system, or improving customer satisfaction. Anonymous or self-nominations are not accepted. Nominations are reviewed by an ad hoc committee that recommends the top candidates to the chair for the final decision.

Eligibility

  • Nominees can be any permanent or temporary classified, professional, or hourly staff — as well as staff who work in labs — in ChemE
  • Nominees must have worked at least six months in ChemE
  • Members of the recognition committee are not eligible
  • Individuals may receive this award once every three years, except if they are part of a team, in which case there is no limit on frequency
