Research Interests

Educational Multimedia

The methods and technologies used to help educate engineers are changing rapidly. The results of research in the field of educational psychology are being fruitfully applied in many engineering classrooms. At the same time, the personal computer and the internet have permeated most aspects of our society. Imaging, animation and video objects can be created, manipulated and presented on CD-ROM, DVD-ROM or the internet using equipment costing less than $2000. The combination of new educational methods and inexpensive new technologies may facilitate a major leap beyond the traditional textbook. Multimedia educational materials can be delivered over the internet. Whether this is an effective way to educate engineers is debatable. Learn more about my latest project at LearnChemE.com
