Fact: more than 4000 degrees have been awarded in the past 100 years of Chemical Engineering at the UW. I am fortunate to have had the opportunity to earn one of those, receiving my bachelor’s degree in 1951. Chemical Engineering education was foundational to the launch of my career, as it was, I’m sure, for many of you. I retired from Pentair in 2002 after a very rewarding career as a Chemical Engineer. Looking back I feel deep gratitude to the UW for the education I received. For me it made all the difference. It is this gratitude that inspired me to chair this centennial reunion. We have a terrific line-up of interesting weekend events planned. You’ll connect with former classmates, professors, and industry leaders representing the depth and breadth of our field. You’ll get a insider’s view on the exciting research currently underway. And we hope you’ll share your views on the optimal direction of engineering education. We look forward to seeing you! |
