Welcome to Chemical Engineering!
The UW Department of Chemical Engineering offers an integrated research and education experience to approximately 130 undergraduate and 70 graduate students. The department has 14 full-time faculty members who generate annual research expenditures of $5.7 million. Together, students and faculty examine the science and engineering of molecular and nanoscale systems that lie at the heart of:
- biochemical engineering
- nanotechnology
- nanorheology
- surface and interfacial science
- polymeric materials
- organic and molecular electronics
- numerical methods
- computational chemistry
- electrochemical engineering and energy conversion
- environmental remediation
- process control
- electronics industry
- oil and chemical industries
- forest products
- environmental engineering
- consumer products
- consulting
- government laboratories, and academia
We are doubly fortunate to have strong support of alumni and friends, who provide scholarship and fellowship support for students and research support for our faculty.
