UW Chemical Engineering Alumnus Charles Matthaei Matthaei joins a long list of baking pioneers, including Otto Rohwedder, inventor of the world's first bread-slicing machine. He received a plaque in March 2008 during a ceremony at American Society of Baking facilities in Manhattan, Kansas to honor his longevity in the industry. The plaque will be displayed there to honor his contributions to baking. For a Q&A with Matthaei on his induction, visit www.snackandbakery.com. |
